Animal Magic

Hello again. Welcome. I had hoped to have two fabulous photos to display today of a hawk sat not fifteen feet from me on top of the aerial on my roof. unfortunately it was just as the sun came up over the mountain behind me this morning and I got nothing but a but of sunlight. I still have not been able to identify what type of hawk it is but having got so close today I can tell you that is slightly smaller than a Harris hawk and lighter in colour . although the underside of the tail is very light coloured as are the leading edge of its wings. He sat there quite unperturbed by my presence on the terrace and I can only hope he will visit again soon. I think I will name him Jose The Hawk. (Remembering that Js are pronounced as H out here). Perhaps I should of called him Jose the Jawk.

I Have been quite lucky for wildlife in the past couple of days and spotted a couple of small lizards basking in the afternoon sun as I walked home yesterday.

I would also Like to relate a story I heard on the radio a little while ago which Katy Kennedy from http://www.powerfmradio.com/ very kindly let me have. about a couple who wished to bring there dog on holiday to Tenerife . I know this will go down with My dad.

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel he planned to visit on his vacation: "I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?" An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who said, "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."

Thanks for Following
